CHARGES and PAYMENT We base our charges on travelling 21 canal miles per day a canal mile being one mile of canal without obstruction or one lock. So for example a stretch of canal two miles long with one lock would calculate as three canal miles. FUEL - we will provide a rough estimate but, of course, we will also need to keep the boat warm (especially in winter). GAS - we will need to cook food so it is helpful if there is enough gas to see us through the relocation. We can replenish the gas if required and this will be advised before doing so and the costs will be added to the final amount due. REPAIRS - we will carry out any basic repairs - we have completed a Diesel Engine And Boat Maintenance course. However, for major breakdowns you will need to have breakdown and/or recovery in place. TRAVEL - we need to get to your boat and back home again after delivery! We will use the most economical method of transport. PAYMENT:- UPON BOOKING - we will require 20% of our quote (excluding fuel and other costs estimates) UPON COLLECTION - 50% of the remain balance of our quote excluding fuel and other costs estimates). UPON DELIVERY - FULL BALANCE DUE including all costs and disbursements incurred during the journey. We will contact you evening before delivery with an invoice detailing all the costs involved and this will need to be settled before handover. Please note if you cancel the booking less than seven days prior to the collection date then the booking fee will not returned. Cancellation between seven and fourteen days prior to the booked collection date will result in 50% of the booking deposit being returned. Cancellations of more than fourteen days notice will result in the full deposit being returned. BREAKDOWN - if your boat breakdowns and need to be recovered by your breakdown provider then the full balance together with any costs incurred becomes due when the recovery company recovers the vessel. HANDOVER:- KEYS - you can post the keys to us well in advance of the sheduled commenement date, we suggest using a secure service for this - Post Office Special Delivery is a good choice. If you boat is at a marina then we can colelct the keys from the office. DIRECTIONS - we need to know exactly where your boat is. For this we would suggest using WhatThreeWords as this will avoid any confusion. DELIVERY - please provide as much information as you in this regard. We wil secure the boat in your specified mooring and another video of the interior and exterior of the boat will be taken. LEGALITIES You need to ensure your boat has the folowing in place:- CRT License Insurance including third party driver (be sure to tell your insurer we are professional boat movers with Certifications). EQUIPMENT - as we prefer to travel as light as possible please ensure that the Windlass is on the boat together with the British Waterways Key - if this is a problem then please let us know and we will take our own. Condition - the boat must be in a waterworthy state, we will not move vessels that are dangerous or libable to cause injury. In this instance the full amount due will become due.
